The length of the body is about 25 cm, which is 5-6 times of the body height. The snout is conical and prominently forward. Lower mouth, crescent shaped, lip hypertrophy. Small eyes. Four pairs are required. There are several rows of sharp teeth on the upper and lower jaw. Shoulder prominent, located in the pectoral fin before the upper part of the head more or less exposed. The side line is straight. Dorsal fin Ⅱ 6-7, posterior margin of hard spine serrate. Pectoral fin spines developed, the inner edge also serrate. The anal fin is 14-18, without hard spines.
