Perennial plants, 50-150 cm high. The root is cylindrical, thick and long. Stems clustered, erect, base woody, with short coarse hairs. Basal leaves spatulate lanceolate, dense; cauline leaves linear lanceolate, apex acute, base narrowly petiolate.
