Perennial herbs, 40-80 cm high. Stems purplish red, covered with fine hairs. Single leaf opposite, broadly ovate, 4-7 cm long, apex acute, base broadly cuneate, margin shallowly coarsely serrate, basal veins 3. Inflorescence terminal or axillary; pedicel thin, 5-6 cm long; flowers small, dark yellow. Involucre 2-row, long ovate; receptacle scaly; ligulate female, 1-row, tongue yellow or white; discoid bisexual, stout, tubular; involucre 2-row. Achene, 3-angular or dorsally compressed, often hairy along the angle, apical crown with 2-3 or no awn spines. It blooms in summer.

It grows in the grass of mountain, wetland or ditch. It is distributed in South China and Taiwan.
