[synonyms] qingmazi (milk producing prescription), lianmazi (Shengji general record), kongmazi (Jiangsu Zhi Yao Zhi), mopanshuzi (Jiangxi folk herbal medicine).

[collection] harvest in autumn when the fruit is ripe. Cut the aboveground parts, dry them in the sun, lay down the seeds, screen out the peel and impurities, and store them in a dry place.

[medicinal material] the dried seeds are triangular or oval, flat kidney shaped, with one end pointed, long diameter of 3.5-6 mm, short diameter of 2.5-4.5 mm and thickness of 1.1-2 mm. The surface is dark brown or grayish brown with inconspicuous sparse short hairs. The hilum is linear and light brown in the kidney shaped depression. The seed coat is hard, the radicle is cylindrical, the lower end is gradually pointed, the cotyledons are heart-shaped, the two pieces overlap, and then fold. It's weak and tasteless. It is better to have full grain and no impurity.

It is mainly produced in Sichuan, Henan, Jiangsu and Hubei. In addition, it is also produced in Anhui, Shanxi, Hebei, Hunan and other places.
