Small deciduous shrub. It is 1-2m high. Branchlets and petioles white pubescent when young, glabrous after, often red purple. The petiole is 4-8 mm in length. The petiole is simple, alternate, variable, 4-10 cm in length and 1.5-4.5 cm in width, rounded or broadly cuneate at base, apex pointed, middle part often contracted into narrow waist shape, glabrous on both sides, sometimes pubescent below. The flowering period is from June to July (Guangdong).

It is found in the shrubbery, sparse forest or village of mountain area. Distribution in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang and other places.
