[synonyms] wild pineapple, Ludou (Yunnan Simao herbal medicine selection), luojindui (Dai name).

[source] it is the root of mycopaphiopedilum, a branch of the family Pandanaceae.

[plant morphology] pandanus bifurcate

Spiny shrubs or small trees, 5-7 m high. The leaves are gathered at the top of the stem, leathery, linear and bell shaped, 1-3 m long and 3-10 cm wide, with long caudate apex and downward curved spines on the margin and middle rib. The flowers are dioecious. The male inflorescences are arranged in compound spikes. The spikes are golden yellow, cylindrical, 10-15 cm long and 2-3 cm wide, with spathes and leaves. The stamens are 3-5, clustered at the top of the style. The anthers are 5 mm long, linear, with long curved awn tips at the top. The female style is 2-3-lobed, carpels do not gather into groups, and the stigma is glossy, bifid, spiny and curved. Fruit is compound, solitary, oblong, subtriangular, reddish brown, with many uncinate spines. The flowering period is August.

In the tropical wet water. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and other places.

[function indications] clearing away heat and diuresis, sweating and relieving pain. Treatment of cold, fever, urinary tract infection, nephritis, edema, conjunctivitis, hepatitis, rheumatism, low back pain, hernia pain.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-2 Liang.

[selected formula] treatment of acute cystitis: pattigan, Mahonia sinensis and flowers on leaves. Baijiu, water fried clothes, one dose a day.
