[plant morphology] leiocarpus longicornis

Herbs perennial, ca. 30 m tall. The root is hypertrophy, cylindrical, and the outer skin is purple brown. Stem erect, whole plant hairy. Basal leaves tufted, long elliptic spoon shaped, 10-14 cm long, 3-4 cm wide, entire, both sides covered with strigose, below dense; cauline leaves alternate, long elliptic lanceolate, 2-5 cm long, less than 1 cm wide. Panicle terminal; flowers small, blue; calyx campanulate. Corolla tube funnel-shaped, 5-lobed, lobes rounded; stamens as long as corolla. There are 4 small nuts, semicircular.

It grows under sparse forest, shrub or grass on hillside. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Guangxi.
