Evergreen shrubs or small trees. Young branches with neoplastic glands. Leaves alternate, odd pinnate compound leaves, young leaves curly; leaflets 5-13, top 1 largest, gradually smaller downward, 2.5-11.5 cm long, 1-6.2 cm wide, elliptic or ovate, apex acuminate, base cuneate, unequal, entire, slightly microwave shaped; papery, densely covered with glandular dots, dark purple above, green below; petiole 2-5 mm long. Panicle terminal or axillary, yellow white flowers; sepals 5, short triangular, covered with short hairs; petals 5, spatulate, reflexed when open, with raised midline on the back; stamens 9-10, usually 10; ovary 5-locular, short petiole, densely covered with yellowish pubescence, style thick and short, stigma oblate, discoid. Berry globose, yellowish brown, pericarp glandular, pilose. The seeds are green. The flowering period is April. The fruit period is June.

It is distributed in southern China, Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian.
