The total length is about 1.7 meters, and the width of the snout scale is slightly larger than the height. The scales between the nose are larger in width than those of the forehead. The length of frontal scale is shorter than the suture line between the two parietal scales. The length of the parietal scales is longer than that of the frontal scales. Upper margin of buccal scale elliptic, growing at height. There are 2-3 scales in front of eyes, not connected with frontal scales. There are 2 scales behind eyes. There were 2 anterior temporal scales. There were 3 posterior temporal scales. Upper lip scales 9. 11 scales of lower lip. Body scales 25-25-19 rows. There are 233-259 abdominal scales, 84-111 pairs of lower scales. The head is brownish yellow. From buccal scales to the upper half of the last two upper lip scales, it is black transverse spot, like black eyebrow. The upper lip and throat are yellow. The back is olive, with 4 Black longitudinal lines and rope ladder like lines from the neck back. There are longitudinal irregular black spots in the anterior part of the body, and the latter part gradually expands into a black longitudinal band. The dorsal part of the tail is yellow, the lower part of the tail and the side of the body are light yellow.

Most of them live in the house and feed on mice and sparrows. It is distributed from Hebei to Yangtze River Basin and southwest China.
