Annual herb, 10-60 cm high. Leaf sheath glabrous or sparsely pilose at sheath mouth; ligule degenerated into a ring of cilia; leaf blade narrowly linear, 3-30 cm long, 2-4 mm wide, rough above. Most of them live in barren fields. It is distributed in Northeast, North China, East China and South China.
