Plant morphology

The prothallus is flat and leaflike, with 2-forked apex, green surface, obvious stomata and stomatal division, brownish below, and pseudoroots. They are dioecious and grow up with umbelliform female torus and male torus respectively; the edge of umbelliform part of female torus splits into thin strips, many female organs grow below, and one egg grows inside each organ; male torus has male organs on it, and ciliated sperm grows inside; sporophyte base is attached to female torus, one end grows into capsule, and endospores grow inside. The cup-shaped body, endophytic germ and asexual reproduction can occur near the middle rib of prothallus. Born in wetland.
