[source] this product is the dried inner shell of Sepiella maindronide rochebrune or sepiaesculenta Hoyle.

Collect the bony inner shell of cuttlefish, wash and dry.

[character] the cuttlefish is oblong, thick in the middle, thin at the edge, 9-14cm in length, 2.5-3.5cm in width and 1.3cm in thickness. There are magnetic white ridge like protrusions on the back, slightly micro red on both sides, and small wart spots that are not obvious; the abdomen is white, with fine wavy transverse striations from the tail to the middle; the cuticle margin is translucent, the tail is relatively wide and flat, and there is no bone needle. It is light in weight, loose in quality, easy to break, and its section is silty with loose lamination. The gas is slightly fishy and the taste is slightly salty. The length of cuttlefish is 13-23cm, and the width is about 6.5cm. The verrucous spots on the back are obvious and arranged in layers slightly; the fine wavy transverse striations on the ventral surface account for most of the whole body, and there are shallow longitudinal grooves in the middle; the cuticle margin of the tail gradually widens and tilts to the ventral surface, and there is a bone needle at the end, most of which have been broken.
