[plant morphology] dawubao

Shrub, 2-3m high. The stems, petioles and leaves were densely covered with yellow villi and scattered very short curved prickles. Leaves alternate, leathery, suborbicular, 4-12 cm in diameter, palmately 7-9-lobed, terminal lobes indistinctly 3-lobed, apex rounded, obtuse, acute, base cordate, margin irregularly double serrated, pubescent and densely small raised, basal 5-veined, reticulate veins conspicuous; petiole 3-6 cm long; stipules lobed. Panicle or raceme terminal or axillary, densely covered with yellow villi; bracts elliptic, notched lobed; calyx lobes ovate, apex often divided, outside densely covered with yellow villi. The aggregate fruit is globose, 1-1.5 cm in diameter, red.

Born in roadside bushes. It is distributed in Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou.

[collection] all year round. Wash, slice and dry.

Functions and indications: clearing away heat and toxin, dispelling wind and removing dampness, cooling blood, stopping bleeding and connecting bone. Treatment of dysentery, diarrhea, rheumatic arthralgia, hemoptysis, women's amenorrhea, fractures.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 0.5-1 Liang. External use: tamping.

[selection] 1. Treatment of dysentery: three liang of fresh Radix Aconiti, two liang of fresh Rhizoma Longya and one or two of fresh Rhizoma Baijin. Fried water, three to four times a day, two small glasses each time.

② Treatment of cough with blood, limb weakness: fresh black bubble two liang, fresh bitter thorn head one or two, sunflower heart five money. Add water and fry it into thick juice. Take it four times a day, one cup each time.
