Vines of vine or twining type. Stems 3 m long, lenticular; branches red, glabrous. The leaves are alternate, elliptic or oblong, 3-5.5 cm long and 2-3.2 cm wide, with wavy shallow teeth on the margin. Spikes axillary; flowers yellowish green, pedicel slender. Berry globose, red, containing 2 seeds.

It grows in the pine forest on the hillside.

Warm and astringent.

Functions and indications: warming meridians and activating collaterals, strengthening stomach and removing dampness. Treatment of rheumatism, falls, stomachache, irregular menstruation, nephritis.
