Perennial herb, 40-150 cm high, covered with white hairs. The basal leaf is long petiole, the central leaflet is ovoid or irregular ovoid, 10-16 cm long, 7.5-14 cm wide, 2-lobed, each lobe is lobed, apex obtuse, base cuneate, margin serrate, sparsely hard white hairs on the top, densely white hairs on the bottom, petiole 2-6 cm long; the leaflets on both sides are small, base oblique, petiole 1-3 cm long; the stem leaf has 2 leaves per node 3, opposite or whorled, like basal leaves. Pedicel slender, white hairy; tepals 5, obovate, apex rounded, concave or convex, white or pinkish, surface glabrous, abaxial white hairy; stamens numerous, glabrous; pistils numerous, capitate, stigma oblique, hairy. Achene about 3 mm long, densely woolly, flowering in July to October.
