Small deciduous shrub, up to 1 m high. The stem is slender and weak, with prickles and dense glandular hairs. Its leaflets are 3-5, ovate lanceolate or ovate elliptic, 3-7 cm long and 2-3.5 cm wide. Apex acute or acuminate, base rounded to broadly cuneate, margin irregularly serrate, both sides slightly villous, below sparsely glandular hairs; stipules lanceolate. Flowers white, about 4 cm in diameter, solitary at the top of branchlets, pedicel 3-6 cm long, with pilose and glandular hairs; sepals lanceolate triangular, densely villous on both sides, apex long, tail pointed; petals obovate elliptic. The aggregate fruit is globose and red when heated. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruit period is from May to June.
