Kong Guangtao (1832-1890) was a famous book collector and engraver in Qing Dynasty. Hongchang, Huaimin, Shaotang, also known as Shaotang Jushi. They are from Nanzhuang, Nanhai, Guangdong Province. The 70th generation grandson of Confucius. Kong Jixun, his father, was in business in his early years, and became rich in salt industry. He is a Chinese student, a doctor and editor of the government branch. He is fond of books and rich in collection. He is famous for collecting engraved books in Wuying hall. Buy books with a lot of money. The collection office is called "330000 volume library" and "Yuexue building". All the books are excellent, especially the Qing palace. Together with Wu Chongyao's Yueya hall, pan Shicheng's Haishan fairy hall and Kang Youwei's WanMu thatched cottage, they are known as the "four major book collectors in Guangdong". In 1908, because the salt industry was changed into an official one, the family's capital declined, and the collection of books gradually came out, most of which were purchased by Kang Youwei. The inscriptions include "yuexuelou Jianzhen Sutra", "Beitang calligraphy", "guxiangzhai Shizhong", "yuexuelou calligraphy and painting record", etc. the manuscripts are made of Maotai paper with the three characters "yuexuelou" in the center of the edition.
