Life of the characters
Uphold the throne
Duke Xuan of Wei, surnamed Ji and surnamed Wei, is the son of Duke Zhuang of Wei. Before he succeeded to the throne, he was called Duke Jin. In the 23rd year of Duke Wei zhuanggong (34th year of Duke Lu Hui, 735 BC), Duke Wei died. Prince Wan, the elder brother of Prince Jin, succeeded to the throne, and he was Duke Wei Huan. In the 16th year of Duke Huan of Wei (the fourth year of Duke Yin of Lu, 719 B.C.), another brother of Duke Jin, Duke Zhou Xu, gathered refugees who fled from the state of Wei to attack and kill Duke Huan of Wei. He became king by himself, which is called Duke Huan of Wei in history. Because Huan didn't like to fight against Wei Gong, he didn't support him. In September of the same year, Shi Qi, Minister of the state of Wei, joined hands with Duke Chen Huan to kill Duke Wei. In December, Shi Qi welcomed his Son Jin from Xing state back to Wei state, and supported his Son Jin to succeed to the throne.
Battle Alliance
In April of the year of Wei Xuan (the fifth year of Lu Yin Gong, 718 BC), Zheng's army invaded the outskirts of Wei. Wei people led the army of Southern Yan to attack Zheng. Zheng ministers Jizu, yuanfan and Xiejia led the three armies to attack the front of Yan army. They sent Manbo and Ziyuan to attack the back of Yan army. The people of Yan were afraid of Zheng's three armies, but did not guard against the troops from Zhidi. In June, Manbo and Ziyuan defeated Yan Jun at hulaoguan. At that time, the state of Ying took advantage of the turmoil in the state of Wei and sent troops to invade the state of Wei, so the army of the state of Wei entered the state of Ying. In the spring of the fourth year of Xuangong of Wei (the eighth year of luyingong, 715 BC), the monarch of Qi was ready to ask song and Wei to make peace with Zheng, and the date of alliance had been set. Song Shang asked the state of Wei to meet him first. Wei Xuangong agreed, so an informal meeting ceremony was held in gouqiu. Qi finally made peace between song and Wei and Zheng. In the autumn of the sixth year of Xuangong of Wei (the tenth year of luyingong, 713 BC), the state of Wei, the state of CAI and the state of Ying did not join forces to attack the state of song according to the order of the emperor of Zhou. On the 5th of July of the same year, Zheng's army entered and stayed in the outer suburbs of Lu. The Wei army and song army took advantage of this to attack Zheng. Cai Jun followed and attacked Dai di. On the 8th of August, the Duke of Zheng Zhuang surrounded Dai di. On the ninth day of August, due to the incompatibility among Wei, song and Cai armies, Zheng army conquered Dai Di and captured the troops of the Three Kingdoms. In the 10th year of Wei Xuangong (the third year of Duke Huan of Lu, 709 BC), Wei Xuangong and Qi Yugong held talks in Pudi. In the 12th year of Xuangong of Wei Dynasty (the 5th year of Duke Huan of Lu Dynasty, 707 BC), King Huan of Zhou Dynasty took over the position of Duke Zhuang of Zheng in the Zhou Dynasty. Therefore, Duke Zhuang of Zheng no longer made pilgrimage to King Huan of Zhou Dynasty. King Huan of Zhou led the army of Wei, CAI and Chen to attack the state of Zheng. King Huan of Zhou led the Chinese army; father Lin of Guo led the right army; Cai Jun and Wei Jun belonged to the right army; Duke Hei Jian of Zhou led the left army, and Chen Jun belonged to the left army. Zheng's Ziyuan suggested that the left array should be used to deal with Cai Jun and Wei Jun, and the right array should be used to deal with Chen Jun. Zheng zhuanggong adopted Ziyuan's suggestion. Manbo was the commander of the right square array, and Ji ZHONGZU was the commander of the left square array. Yuanfan and gaoqumi led the Chinese Army guard Zheng zhuanggong to set up a kind of formation called Yuli. There was deviation in the front and Wu in the back, and Wu Cheng made up for the gap. The two sides were at war in Kuige. Zheng army launched an attack, Cai, Wei and Chen army fled together, and Zhou army was in chaos. Zheng's army closed from both sides to attack, and Zhou's army was defeated. General Zhu of Zheng's army shot King Huan of Zhou in the shoulder. In the fourteenth year of Xuangong of Wei (the seventh year of Duke Huan of Lu, 705 BC), the Wei army united with Zheng army and Qi army to attack Mengyi and Xiangyi. King Huan of the Zhou Dynasty moved the people from Mengyi and Xiangyi to Jiadi. In the 17th year of Xuangong of Wei (the 10th year of Duke Huan of Lu, 702 BC), the Allied forces of Wei, Qi and Zheng fought with Lu in Langdi. In the 18th year of emperor Xuangong of Wei (the 11th year of emperor HuanGong of Lu, 701 BC), Wei, Qi, Zheng and song held an alliance in the evil Cao.
Go to the next generation
In the 19th year of Duke Xuan of Wei (the 12th year of Duke Huan of Lu, 700 B.C.), Duke Xuan of Wei passed away on November 18, and his posthumous title was Duke Xuan. After the death of Duke Wei Xuan, Prince Shuo succeeded to the throne for Duke Wei Hui.

During the reign of Wei Xuangong, he had many wars with Zheng, Ying and other countries; he made peace with song under the mediation of Qi's monarch, Qi Yugong, and had talks with Qi Yugong in Pudi; he held alliance with Qi, Zheng and song in Vicao.
Anecdotes and allusions
At the beginning, Wei Xuangong had an affair with Yi Jiang, Ji concubine of his father Wei zhuanggong, and gave birth to his son Chen (an urgent son). Wei Xuangong entrusted him to the right son to raise him. Duke Wei was very fond of Yijiang, so he made him the crown prince and asked him to teach him. Later, yougongzi married xuanjiang, a woman of Qi State, for Prince Chen, but he was still unmarried. However, seeing that xuanjiang was beautiful, Duke Wei liked xuanjiang, so he married her and married another woman for Prince Chen. After getting xuanjiang, xuanjiang gave birth to two sons, Shouzi and Shuo. He asked Zuo to teach them. Yi Jiang fell out of favor and hanged himself. After Yijiang's death, xuanjiang and his son Shuo slandered Prince Chen. After seizing xuanjiang, Duke Wei began to hate Prince Chen and wanted to abandon him. When Wei Xuangong heard the bad words about Prince Chen, he was very angry, so he sent Prince Chen to the state of Qi, instructed the robbers to wait in Xindi, the border of Wei, and gave him the white Festival. He told the robbers in Xindi to kill him when they saw the man with the white Festival in his hand. When Prince Chen was about to leave, Prince Shou knew that Prince Shuo hated Prince Chen, and Duke Wei Xuan wanted to kill him, so he said to Prince Chen, "the bandits on the border will kill you when they see the white festival in your hands. You can't go there." And let the prince run away as soon as possible. Prince Chen disagreed and said, "you can't live against your father's orders. If there is a country without a father in the world, you can escape there." When Prince Chen was about to leave, Prince Shou drunk him with wine and stole his white Festival. The young master's birthday car runs to Xindi with a white festival in it. When the robbers in Xindi see that someone is really holding the white Festival, they kill him. When Prince Shou died, Prince Chen arrived and said to the robber, "I should be killed. What's his crime? Please kill me The robbers killed the prince at the same time, and then reported to Wei Xuangong. So Duke Wei Xuangong made Prince Shuo the prince.
