Gu Cai

Gu Cai (1650 ~ 1718) was a dramatist in Qing Dynasty. The word Tianshi, No. BUZHAI, xiangcha, No. Menghe Jushi, from Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. His representative works include the collection of going to shenzhai, the manuscripts of bijiangyuan, and hebianci.

Life of the characters

His father, Gu Chen, is a well-known local book collector. After reading it, he became very interested in literature and opera. The official wrote to the cabinet. Caigongqu is friendly with Kong Shangren, and Shangren writes the legend of xiaohulei, which is composed by caigongqu. Kong Shangren hired him to Qufu for several years, and they were friendly. In the 42nd year of Kangxi, introduced by Kong Shangren, he traveled for half a year to Rongmei Xuanfu (now Hefeng County in Hubei Province, Cili County and Shimen County in Hunan Province) and taught Tian shunnian, the chieftain of Rongmei, the legend of "South Peach Blossom Fan", to perform in a family gathering class. He also wrote Rongmei Jiyou, which records the spread of Kunqu opera to this place. Gu was indifferent to his official career and forgetful of his poems. The legendary words are well written, and we are forced to walk in Linchuan. His works include peach blossom fan, xiaohulei and houpipa. "Peach Blossom Fan" changes the ending of Kong Shangren's original "Peach Blossom Fan" in which Hou Fangyu and Li Xiangjun awaken to practice and live separately in the north and South Mountains, so that Hou and Li can get together on the spot and grow old together. Xiaohulei is based on the outline drawn up by Kong Shangren. Other works include Tanci in the 11th section of jincihua, bijiangyuan manuscript, hebiancichao, Caotang Sixiang, and xiangshenzhai poetry anthology.
