Wei Changshu, formerly Wei Changshu, male, Han nationality, was born in ganzhan village, Dongshan Town, Rongcheng City in August 1920.

Introduced by Bi Xuzi in 1935, he joined the Communist Party of China under the name of "Zhou GUI". After the failure of the "January 14th uprising" launched by the party organization in Jiaodong area, the party organization was destroyed and lost its organizational relationship. In April 1939, introduced by Wei Laiying (pseudonym of the party Zhou Ke), he joined the Communist Party of China for the second time. In March 1940, Zhou GUI joined the Eighth Route Army.

During the Anti Japanese War, Zhou GUI served as secretary of the administrative village and township party branch. In March 1940, Zhou GUI was a soldier of the independent battalion of Rongcheng county. In August, he was a student of Jiaodong branch of Shandong Anti Japanese military and Political University. In November, he was transferred to the radio telegraph training team of Shandong column of the Eighth Route Army to learn radio service technology and served as the platoon leader of the training team. After graduation, Zhou GUI was assigned to work as a radio operator in the central Shandong military region of the Shandong column. In 1943, Zhou GUI was assigned to the newly established Tai (an), Si (Shui) and Ning (Yang) military divisions to take charge of the communication work of the military divisions. At that time, the communication equipment was simple and crude, and the working performance of the radio station was poor, which caused a lot of difficulties to the work. In order to improve the performance of the radio station and ensure the smooth communication between the chief and various combat organs, he often risked his life to climb the mountain, improve the antenna, increase the transmitting effect, and successfully complete his work tasks. He was awarded the title of "model telegraph operator" by the central Shandong military region. In 1944, Zhou GUI was appointed director of the central Shandong Military Region radio station and Secretary of the Party branch. In addition to ensuring that he would do his job well, he also tried every means to copy the news telegrams sent by the broadcasting station of the Yan'an Xinhua news agency of the CPC Central Committee, and timely report the victory news of the Soviet German battlefield and the actual situation of the battles and counter offensives in various strategic regions of the country to the leaders and organs. It is not only convenient for the commander to grasp the situation, grasp the fighter plane and command the battle, but also greatly inspired the morale of our army. In 1945, he was awarded the title of "model director" by Shandong military region.

During the war of liberation, in 1946, Zhou GUI was transferred to work in the communication school of the Northeast military region. Later, he went south to Wuhan with his troops and served as the leader of the communication school of the central and southern military region.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Zhou GUI served as the leader of the Cadet of the communication school of the Central South military region and the director of the communication department of the 42nd army of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. In 1950, he was awarded the title of "model worker" by the Central South military region. In 1962, Zhou GUI was transferred to the post of deputy director of the communication department of the headquarters of the Guangzhou Military Region. From 1965 to 1967, he participated in the war of aiding Vietnam and resisting the United States. Risking the enemy planes' round the clock bombing and the enemy agents' cunning sneak attack, he led the headquarters to complete the task of erecting communication lines in the northern and eastern coastal islands of Vietnam. In 1970, Zhou GUI was appointed director of communications of the headquarters of the Guangzhou Military Region. In 1979, he took part in the self-defense and counterattack operations at the border between China and Vietnam.
