Chen Zihe

Chen Zihe, named Jiuxian, was born in Pucheng, Fujian Province. His life and death are unknown. He first worked as a sculptor, but later changed to painting. He specialized in ink and wash figures. He also worked as a freehand feathered bird and also as a landscape painter. The style is free and elegant, and does not fall into vulgar style. It is said that Wu Wei and Guo Xu are among the "Zhejiang School" painters.

Character works

The handed down works include the painting of Jiuxian in ancient wood, silk and ink, which is now stored in huaiyunlou, Mr. Wang Jiqian of the United States; the painting of suwu sheep, silk and color, which is stored in Shengzhou Municipal Council of cultural administration of Zhejiang Province; the painting of Luyan, Songhe, which is recorded in the Department of ink art; the painting of Shuangjiu, which is now stored in freer Art Museum of the United States; and the painting of Songyan mountain chicken, which is stored in Tokyo National Museum of Japan.
