Personal experience
After graduating from high school in Shuguang in 1962, he worked as a worker, an artist and a performer. In his practical work, he has cultivated and accumulated various literary and artistic talents, and cultivated a simple and pragmatic character. in 1985, he entered the Chinese Calligrapher Association, the highest organ in the field of calligraphy. Later, he worked as director of the office, director of the research department. If he wants to take a shortcut and get close to the water tower, it should be relatively easy, but he thinks that seeking quick success, taking a shortcut and catching up with the fashion, although he has achieved some benefits, it is difficult to become a great tool in the end. That is a kind of "new slave" and he has lost himself. Therefore, he called himself the "bitter school". He attaches great importance to tradition and takes learning traditional classics as the foundation. He was almost everywhere to the excellent ancient inscriptions, "for my use" thought "not to let the ancients.". He was especially fond of the four schools of Song Dynasty and Wang Xizhi. His research on "Lanting" has achieved remarkable results, and his "the best running script in the world" has a considerable influence in the field of calligraphy. He made great efforts to get into the ancient classic calligraphy. His calligraphy should be meticulous, and he also sought for the spirit and form. He tried to combine his personal hobbies on the basis of recitation and take the road of innovation. We should always pursue the beauty of sense of power, the beauty of fine stippling, and the beauty of overall effect and breath rhythm. In his calligraphy creation, he is good at various styles, but the emphasis is on running script and cursive script. The strokes of his seal script are graceful but not hard to cut. His regular script is mostly based on Scripture and bamboo slips, and has absorbed many strokes of Su Shi, Ni Zan and so on, which increases his patience. His cursive script absorbed the style of many masters since the Tang and Song Dynasties, followed the superior method and pursued the spirit. His cursive works are often full of momentum, vigorous and fluent, sometimes dry and thirsty, showing signs of aging and vigor. Dawning is a calligrapher and painter, so his works are often rich in ink color changes. This is also a rare artistic effect.
Artistic attainments
Good at Chinese painting, and can landscape, figures, flowers and birds, good at small freehand brushwork, style "Qingjin". He is good at running calligraphy and running cursive calligraphy. He has learned from various schools and learned from various arts. His calligraphy style is "strong and rich in rhyme". It is equivalent to tens of thousands of books in the world. Calligraphy works have participated in many exhibitions at home and abroad, such as the second national youth and middle school exhibition, the fourth national calligraphy exhibition, the 20th century Chinese calligraphy exhibition and the Millennium Chinese calligraphy exhibition. Calligraphy works have been exhibited in Japan, the United States and other countries. Most of the names are collected in dictionaries of calligraphy and painting, seal cutting, and the world's celebrities.
Personal point of view
Yu Shuguang loved Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal cutting since he was a child. His calligraphy can be real, grass, Li, and seal. He is especially good at running calligraphy and cursive, painting long characters, landscapes, flowers and birds. His calligraphy is well-known by many scholars, and his style is known as "Gu Sheng Fu Yun". His calligraphy works have participated in many important exhibitions in China, Japan, Singapore and the United States. Yu Shuguang believes that calligraphy is the most unique art with Chinese characteristics. Other kinds of art can draw lessons from the West and engage in the "integration of China and the west", but the art of calligraphy is different. It is the "genre" closest to the Chinese language. From dawning's point of view, the essence of calligraphy art is first and foremost inheritance, and there is no need to deliberately "innovate". In the concept of creation, he paid close attention to the famous sayings and sentences of the calligraphers of the past dynasties, such as "if you want to write, you should give up your arms first", "if you don't want to be a good calligrapher", "if you want to be a good calligrapher", "if you want to write first" and so on. He integrated these valuable experiences into his creation.
