Profile

Liu Hongsheng (1879-1921) was born in Shunyi County, Beijing. In the early stage, Peking opera was an old and famous performer, whose art world was known as Liu school. As Hongsheng and Hongsheng, they were named Ziyu and Zebao. He died in Shanghai on March 9, 1921. Originally an apprentice of xiaodaopu, he joined the troupe because of his hobby of Peking Opera. He first performed Jingjiao, which was highly appreciated by Mu Fengshan. He once performed in such dramas as baben Jieguan. Later, he changed to be an old student. He was famous for his high, straight and fluent voice and formed his own artistic style, which is known as "Liu school" in the world. Lame, not good at work. He is good at performing Yuanmen Zhanzi, zhanma Su, zhanhuang Pao and Liling stele. The four plays are known as "three cuts and one touch". After Tan Xinpei, he was the president of Beijing zhengle education society.

In the early years of the Republic of China, the singing styles of Liu Hongpei (Liu Hongkui) and Wang Guifen (Tan Hongkui) were developed later than those of the three singing styles of Liu and Wang Characteristic is the main symbol.

Artistic experience

He used to be an apprentice in Beijing knife and scissors shop. Because of his love of Peking Opera, he later entered Cuifeng temple to study at the box office. In 1895, he became a professional actor and played supporting roles for Tan Xinpei and sun Juxian in Tongchun and Sixi classes. After taking the Yucheng class, he starred in judge Ba Ben, and became famous. When he went to Shanghai in 1909, he began to act as an old student. After the revolution of 1911, he returned to Beijing and set up a Hongqing class in guanghelou, where he played the leading role. His singing voice is loud, clear, sweet, straight, vigorous, fluent, and mostly uses Beijing characters and Beijing sound. It is famous for "chop Huang Pao", "chop Ma Su", "Yuan men chop Zi" and "Si Lang Tan Mu". After becoming famous, he sometimes performed Hualian opera "tanyinshan" and laodan opera "diaoyinggui". After Tan Xinpei, he was the president of Beijing zhengle education society.

The Liu school has a wide range of operas. It not only has various dramas of Kui school, but also other dramas such as sun and Tan school. Once transplanted, they can give Liu school characteristics. Liu Hongsheng is lame and has no child workers, so he basically does not rely on tricks, Wu Laosheng's plays and special performing skills. He mainly focuses on singing opera and likes to use a lot of libretto in his singing, such as "one hundred single eight sentences" in "shangtiantai" and "ten deceiving few people" in "Xiaoyaojin". It's also good to read Gongxi and play laodan at the same time. Because of his high voice and narrow range, Liu's singing of tongchui Hualian has formed a unique singing style and unique charm.

Representative plays

Liu paichang has a large number of plays, the most prominent of which are "three chopping and one exploration" -- chopping Huangpao, chopping Hongpao (i.e. dadouyao), Yuanmen chopping, Silang exploring his mother, shangtiantai, Xiaoyaojin, kongchengji, chopping masu, and so on. In addition, there are "knocking bones for gold", "huangjintai", "Wanbi Guizhao", "yubeiting" and "suwu shepherd"《 Wu Long Yuan, FA Chang Huan Zi, etc.

Artistic influence

The singing style is high, clear and crisp, which has a great influence on the development of some "Laosheng" schools at that time and later. Liu Hongsheng died in middle age, so although there are many imitators of Liu, there are few successors. Gao Qingkui is the only one in terms of achievement.

Liu school's singing method only has more than ten albums, such as "chop the son", "chop the yellow robe", "empty city plan", "Yu Bei Ting", "Wan Bi GUI Zhao", "Tan Mu", "Wu Long Yuan", "knock the bone for gold", "scold Yang Guang", "Su Wu Yang Yang", "Fa Chang Huan Zi", "Tan Yin Shan" and "Qimei case" (the last two paragraphs are "bronze hammer Hualian").
