Chen Tingrui
Chen Tingrui, a native of Wu County, Jiangsu Province, was born in December 1891 and died in August 1976. He has obtained a Bachelor of law from Soochow University and a doctor of law from the University of Michigan. He has been a professor of Soochow University, Jinan University, Qunzhi college, China Law and Politics College, a political participant of the national government, and a representative of the national assembly. After going to Taiwan, he still worked as a lawyer.
When the alumni of Soochow University were planning to resume their studies in Taiwan, Mr. Wu rushed to appeal for the establishment of Soochow law school in 1954. Mr. Wu served as the president of Soochow law school and made great contributions to the school affairs.

Jiangsu Wu county (now Suzhou) people.
He studied in Suzhou University from the 32nd year of Guangxu to the first year of Xuantong (1906-1909).
In 1911, Xuantong joined Shanghai Zhonghua Book Company as editor, and later joined the Greater China magazine department under the leadership of Liang Qichao.
He graduated from Soochow University with a bachelor's degree in law in 1920. Later, he went to the United States at his own expense to study at the University of Michigan, where he received a doctor of law and a master's degree in political science.
In the 11th year of the Republic of China, he returned to China and taught in Soochow University, Jinan University, Qunzhi college and China University of law and politics.
In November of the Republic of China, he joined the Shanghai Law Association and set up a law firm in the Museum Road (now Huqiu Road) to carry out lawyer's business. He was once the head of Shanghai Law Association. At the special request of Shenbao and Xinbao, he often wrote Monographs on politics and law.
During the May 30th Movement in the 14th year of the Republic of China, he was the representative of the students who died in Shanghai. He sued the police house of the Ministry of industry of Shanghai public concession and made representations. Later, he served as secretary of the Chinese Society for tax payment and the Chinese President of the Bureau of Shanghai public concession industry. In January of the Republic of China, the court was formally reorganized into a provisional court.
In November of the 25th year of the Republic of China, he served as one of the defense lawyers for the case of Shen Junru, Zou Taofen, etc. After the August 13 incident of the following year, he went to Chongqing to serve as a national political counsellor instead of being intimidated and lured by the Japanese puppets.
In the 33rd year of the Republic of China, he went to the United States to investigate the administration of justice. In the 34th year of the Republic of China, he returned to Shanghai to manage his old business and was elected as a representative of the national assembly.
After going to Taiwan in March of the Republic of China, he still worked as a lawyer.
He was the dean of Soochow law school in 1954.
He moved to the United States in 1956.
He returned to Taiwan in 1974.
He died in Taiwan in 1976.
His works include voice of freedom, collection of Haoran hall, etc.
