meritorious deeds
Before liberation, Professor Li Bingde was well-known in the domestic academic circles. In the educational circles, there was a saying that "Tao Xingzhi lived in the South and Li Bingde lived in the north". In 1934, after graduating from the Education Department of the famous national Henan University at that time, he was selected by Mr. Li Lianfang, a famous educator and an important Minister of the revolution of 1911. He was employed as the director of the famous Kaifeng Education Experimental Zone and devoted himself to the vigorous upsurge of education reform and saving the nation. In a short period of two years, because of his enthusiasm, solid work style and solid theoretical foundation, coupled with the correct guidance of Mr. Li Lianfang, the education experiment work in Kaifeng Education Experimental Zone gained a lot of fame in China, which attracted the attention of the academic circles and political circles at that time. Many celebrities such as Meng Xiancheng and Huang Yanpei came to visit and gave high evaluation .
In 1936, Mr. Li Bingde went to Peking to study and studied as a graduate student in Yanjing University. Because of the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, he had to leave the classroom. In the 1940s, he was employed as an associate professor and librarian of Henan University. He published many academic papers in many important domestic journals and became one of the most active figures in the educational academic circles at that time. In 1947, he won the first batch of public funded overseas students after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, and went to Switzerland and France where education and scientific research were more prosperous at that time. In more than three years of studying abroad, he has studied in Belgium University, Lausanne University in Switzerland, Rousseau college in Geneva University and Paris University in France. He is honored to be one of the first batch of Chinese students of Piaget, a world-famous educator and founder of genetic epistemology. At the same time, he also went to Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium and other countries to investigate the education situation in European countries, and visited the famous decarley education experiment at that time.
In 1949, the news that the domestic war situation was stable spread to Europe. Like other Chinese students, Mr. Li was jubilant. He gave up the superior living conditions abroad and the appointment letter of foreign university, went through all kinds of hardships, and resolutely returned to China to participate in the construction.
In 1949, Mr. Li Bingde returned to the motherland, first studied in North China University, and then assigned jobs. He could have stayed in the mainland during the assignment, but in order to respond to the party's call and take care of other comrades, he resolutely chose the northwest. With a family, they arrived in Lanzhou, which was still very backward at that time, and came to the Northwest Normal University, where the conditions were difficult.
First of all, his noble character is that he never follows blindly in politics. No matter how the political situation changes, he always takes the revolutionary cause as the first and firmly believes that doing his job well is to make contributions to the country. When he was the president of Northwest Normal University, he was in the period of uprooting chaos and rehabilitating unjust, false and wrong cases. From the perspective of career development, he eliminated all kinds of interference, rehabilitated a large number of intellectuals, and mobilized the enthusiasm of the majority of intellectuals.
As a well-known professor and expert in teaching theory, he has great respect for various academic views and academic opinions. He never oppresses others, but seriously analyzes and treats them correctly. Even when his students' academic views are different from him, he never puts forward qualifications, suppresses or criticizes them. Instead, he inspires them to think about problems, respects their opinions and encourages them to conduct in-depth research.
Since the reform and opening up, thousands of young students, teachers and colleagues from all kinds of schools all over the country often write to Mr. Li, or ask for information, or ask for questions, or exchange views. Regardless of his position, educational background, or whether he knows him or not, he always sends a reply, or sends materials free of charge, or answers questions enthusiastically, or exchanges opinions equally. Over the past ten years, he has answered hundreds of letters. This is not easy for ordinary people to insist on.
Mr. Li has been recruiting postgraduates since 1982. In many years of enrollment work, he has strict requirements. It shows the quality and integrity of a scholar to carefully check the entrance standard of postgraduates, not to accept according to the relationship and not to submit to the external pressure. It has been praised by the academic circles at home and abroad.
Mr. Li once served as the president of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and a member of the sixth and Seventh National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. However, he has always been strict with himself, never used his power for personal gain, never put forward any requirements, even reasonable ones, to any unit or organization.
Mr. Li's broad mind and noble character have deeply influenced his colleagues and students. He often educates postgraduates, first to learn how to be a man, and then to pursue his studies. To be a man and study is a lifelong thing. He said so, did the same, and asked his students to do the same.
Professor Li Bingde wrote books as early as the 1930s and 1940s with outstanding achievements and is quite famous in the domestic academic circles. After liberation, although the most precious time in his life was wasted due to the "anti rightist" and "Cultural Revolution". But when the spring breeze of reform came, it was also the second golden period of academic development in his life. In the past ten years of reform and opening up, he has been engaged in academic research regardless of the interference of old age and administrative affairs. More than 30 papers have been published in educational research, educational research and experiment, Journal of East China Normal University, Journal of Northwest Normal University and other important national journals. Some of the research results have filled the gaps in the domestic academic circles, formed an independent system, and received the attention of the academic circles. At the same time, he actively undertook the task of compiling liberal arts teaching materials in Colleges and universities entrusted by the State Education Commission, and edited two kinds of teaching materials, namely "research methods of educational science" and "teaching theory" respectively during the "sixth five year plan" and "Seventh Five Year Plan".
Since its publication by the people's education press in 1986, the book "research methods of educational science" edited by him has been printed for more than ten times and has been highly praised by the academic circles. Most normal colleges and universities across the country use this book as teaching materials.
In 1991, when he was about to be 80 years old, the book teaching theory, edited by him, was published in the people's education press. This book was completed under his organization and leadership on the basis of his decades of dedicated research. The book puts forward a new system of teaching theory, marking the birth of the Northwest School headed by Professor Li Bingde. In a few years, it has been reprinted more than ten times. It has been rated as excellent educational theory works by China Education Society and won provincial and ministerial awards.
The reason why Mr. Li has achieved such fruitful academic results is due to his rigorous academic attitude. Hard working style, scientific research methods and strong sense of social responsibility. Over the past few decades, he has been a consistent person, collecting and reading extensively, and thinking seriously and independently. The research either focuses on the problems existing in the actual education, or takes the major theoretical problems in the development of education as the starting point, showing everyone's style and the efforts of famous scholars. With the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in 1981, he became the first doctoral supervisor of teaching theory in China.
In recent years, he has been invited to the United States, Canada, Switzerland and other countries to participate in international academic conferences, and has been identified as one of the main speakers of the conference, which has been well received by foreign scholars, and his papers have also been published
