Anzhong, a Chinese word, means Anzhong City, which was named in the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period. Anzhong city is 30 Li southwest of Nanyang Prefecture. Han county belongs to Nanyang County

Lu Ji's "Ode to feather fans" in Jin Dynasty: "in the past, the king of Wu xuanlan made fans in the first place, but in the five Ming Dynasty, he made fans in the second place. In Tang Dynasty, Chang sun Wuji's Jin Lu Shu Yi Biao said, "the nine methods of Anzhong's Chen, and the Yu die's broadcast of its Honggui." In the spring and March of 198, Cao Cao attacked Nanyang County again and surrounded Zhang Xiu in the city. In May of summer, Liu Biao sent troops to rescue Zhang Xiu and entered Anzhong county (now the northeast of Deng County in Henan Province) to cut off the supply line of Cao Jun's back road. Cao Cao led the army to retreat. Seeing the retreat of Cao's army, Jia Xu, the counselor of Zhang Xiu, said, "you can't pursue it, but you will lose it." Zhang Xiu did not listen and led the army to pursue him. In Anzhong, Cao Cao defeated Liu Biao's reinforcements and Zhang Xiu's pursuers. Cao Cao's battle of Anzhong and sun CE's battle of Shaxian are two important battles in the early period of the Three Kingdoms.
