Lu Houshan

Lu Houshan, male, Professor; chief physician, Department of osteoarthritis, people's Hospital of Peking University. Former president of Peking University People's Hospital, former director and founder of Department of osteoarthritis of Peking University People's hospital.

He is good at the surgical treatment of arthropathy, especially in the number, difficulty and effect of artificial joint replacement.

Character experience

In 1970, he graduated from the medical department of Beijing Medical College;

In 1984, he went to Phoenix City, Arizona as a visiting scholar St.Luke The arthritis center of the medical center further studies the clinical and basic research work of artificial joint replacement and the surgical treatment technology of arthritis. After returning home, he mainly focused on the surgical treatment of joint diseases caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and other rheumatic diseases.

In 1990, he organized the establishment of China's first professional diagnosis and treatment research center focusing on the surgical treatment of arthritis, and led the development of artificial hip and knee arthroplasty for patients with severe rheumatic joint deformity.

Scientific research education

He has trained nearly 40 postgraduates and doctoral students, and carried out a lot of scientific research work. He has undertaken a number of research projects such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, natural science foundation of Ministry of health and national 863 program.

Chief editor of the first domestic monograph "artificial joint surgery", participated in the preparation of "rheumatology", "modern orthopedic diagnosis and treatment manual" and other works.

Main works

He edited the first monograph of artificial joint surgery in China, and participated in the compilation of Rheumatology and modern orthopedic diagnosis and treatment manual. More than 100 academic papers have been published in core professional journals at home and abroad. He made a speech at the 65th national orthopaedics annual meeting, and then published the article in the American Journal of orthopedics. The achievements have filled the gap in surgical treatment of severe rheumatism in China, and won the second prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award in 1999 and the first prize of national science and Technology Progress Award nominated by the Ministry of education in 2002. Professor Lu Houshan is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese society of Rheumatology, the Chinese Orthopaedic Society, the Asia Pacific artificial joint society, the Chinese society of Biomedical Engineering, the president of the Beijing Society of Biomedical Engineering, the editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of medicine, the Chinese Journal of surgery and the Chinese Journal of Rheumatology, and the Department of life sciences of the sixth and Seventh National Natural Science Foundation of China Section evaluation experts and other positions.

Social service

He is a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese society of Rheumatology, the Chinese Orthopaedic Society, the Asia Pacific artificial joint society, the Chinese society of Biomedical Engineering, and the president of the Beijing Society of biomedical engineering. He is also an editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of medicine, the Chinese Journal of surgery and the Chinese Journal of Rheumatology, and an expert of the Department of life sciences of the 67th National Natural Science Foundation of China.
