Du Wei

Du Wei (unknown year of birth and death), named Guofu, was born in Fu County of Zitong (now Fucheng District, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province). When he was young, he studied Confucian classics with Ren an of Guanghan.

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, he worked in Yizhou, but later resigned. Du Wei pretended to be deaf and lived in seclusion in the mountains. Later, Zhuge Liang wanted to appoint Du Wei as the governor of Yizhou. Du Wei refused, so Zhuge Liang sent a car to meet Du Wei. After the two met, Zhuge Liang wrote two more articles to persuade Du Wei, hoping that Du Wei could help the later leader. Finally, Zhuge Liang appointed Du Wei as an admonitory doctor.

When Du Wei was young, he followed Ren an of Guanghan to study Confucian classics. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Zhang appointed Du Wei to work in Yizhou. But soon afterwards, Du Wei resigned because of his illness.

In the 19th year of Jian'an (214), Liu Bei captured Yizhou and raised a large number of talents from Sichuan. At this time, Du Wei often called himself deaf, as in the past, closed door.

In the second year of Jianxing (224), Zhuge Liang, the Prime Minister of Shu Han Dynasty, took the post of Yizhou animal husbandry, and again selected a large number of talents. Zhuge Liang promoted well selected and highly respected people. Among them, Qin MI was Yizhou Biejia, Wuliang was Yizhou Gongcao, and Du Wei was Yizhou master. Du Wei resolutely refused, and Zhuge Liang sent a car to welcome Du Wei to Zhuge Liang. After Du Wei arrived, Zhuge Liang introduced Du Wei, and Du Wei expressed his gratitude in person.

Considering that Du Wei was deaf and could not hear what people said, Zhuge Liang wrote an article to Du Wei from his seat. The article said: "I often heard about your moral conduct. I was hungry and thirsty for a long time. Because of the separation of the clear and the turbid, I didn't have a chance to consult you face to face. Wang Yuantai, Li Boren, Wang Wenyi, Yang Jixiu, Ding Jungan, Li Yongnan brothers, Wen Zhongbao and others often praise your interest in Gao Shangzhi, but they have never met. Humiliated by virtue of false talent, leading the state, moral shallow and heavy responsibility, very worried. He is just 18 years old. He is endowed with benevolence and wisdom. He cherishes moral people and treats virtuous people with humility. People have been admiring the Hanshi. They want you to follow the will of heaven, conform to the will of the people, assist the Ming Dynasty, and revive the achievements of the Hanshi. The achievements are written on bamboo and silk. Because the wise and the foolish don't work together, you isolate Liu Zhang and just work at home, not to humiliate yourself. "

Du Wei personally begged Zhuge Liang to return it on the grounds of old age and illness. Zhuge Liang wrote another article to reply to Du Wei: "Cao Pi killed the king and usurped the throne. He regarded himself as the emperor, just like a dragon kneaded by clay and a dog tied by straw. I want to work with many people with both ability and political integrity to eliminate Cao Pi with justice on the basis of his evil and hypocrisy. Because you can't help teaching, you want to ask to go back to the mountain, so the intention can't be completed. Cao Pi led a large army to attack Wu, Chu and other places. Today, because of Cao Pi's many affairs, our country temporarily closed the four borders, worked hard in agriculture, raised the people and everything, at the same time, governed the army, waiting for Cao Pi to attack Wu and be defeated, and then crusaded against the state of Wei, so that the soldiers would not go through the battle, the common people would not go through the labor, and the world would be peaceful. You should help the times with your own virtue. I don't ask you to participate in the military. Why do you want to leave so eagerly? "

Therefore, Zhuge Liang appointed Du Wei as a counsellor to comply with his ambition.

Historical evaluation

Zhuge Liang: service, smell, virtue, hunger and thirst, clear and turbid flow, no chance to consult Gou. Wang Yuantai, Li Boren, Wang Wenyi, Yang Jixiu, Ding Jungan, Li Yongnan brothers, Wen Zhongbao, etc. all sighed their lofty aspirations, but they did not see them as before.

Yang Xi: Shaofu Xiushen, Honglu Mingzhen, remonstrance Yinxing, scholars and astronomy, xuanban Dahua, or Shou or Lin.
