Wang Xu, male, born in September 1963, Ph.D. in engineering, researcher and doctoral supervisor, is now vice president of School of materials science and engineering, Southwest Petroleum University. He has been teaching in Southwest Petroleum University since July 1984. From September 1996 to July 2000, he studied as a doctoral candidate in chemical technology of School of chemical engineering, Sichuan University. From April 2002 to July 2004, he has been engaged in the research of fracturing stimulation technology in postdoctoral mobile station of Southwest Petroleum University and postdoctoral workstation of Xinjiang Petroleum Administration Bureau.

He has won many awards from Sichuan University and Southwest Petroleum University (including top 10 teachers of teaching and education, first prize of scientific and technological achievements, excellent doctoral students of Sichuan University, etc.). At present, we are mainly engaged in the research of rheology of multiphase system, corrosion and protection of chemicals and materials for oil production. He has successively participated in, presided over or taken charge of 6 national projects, 3 projects of China National Petroleum Corporation, 6 provincial technological transformation projects, 20 cooperation projects between chemical enterprises and oil fields, and 3 projects at the Institute level. He has published more than 40 papers in academic journals and scientific conferences, won one national patent, participated in the compilation of five textbooks and monographs, and independently and cooperatively directed 16 postgraduates.
