Celebrity Reviews
Chinese contemporary art is showing a very strong momentum of development. As a symbol of China's social change and cultural openness, it can provide people with an understanding of the relationship between Chinese artists' ideas and social reality, as well as the close relationship between Chinese culture and international culture. However, in the view of the international community, works that have received much attention and are usually read a lot Products are often those parts with symbolic images. in fact, there are exceptions. Among the groups of Chinese contemporary art, there are some artists who do not pursue fashion trends and do not aim at popular styles. They are more committed to their own world, express their interests and feelings according to their most authentic realistic feelings and cultural experience, and build their own real world. Their art has more value Value. Only according to their actual experience, along the path of their psychological growth, can we realize the unique value of their works. Among such artists, Tang Hui is a typical one. Tang Hui's works unfold an extremely rich and complex world. It is difficult for us to find a term of "style" for his works, but his "style" is obvious. In the past 20 years, he has built a huge image labyrinth with incredible imagination. He himself indulges in it and leads people into the dazzling and illusory space, so as to obtain a new experience. Tang Hui's works are obviously "Chinese" and "contemporary". He has been living and working in China since he entered an art university in his early years and later became an art teacher. Like other artists, he is in an era of convenient global information transmission and understands the complex changing situation of contemporary international art, but external things, especially the trend of art, have not had a direct impact on him. He belongs to the kind of artist with enough inner strength, which is very different from many artists of his age. He believes that the Chinese society he lives in has enough support for his art, no matter in artistic concept, cultural tradition or visual experience. Similarly, the contemporary characteristics of his art are also very obvious, that is, the contemporary cultural reality experienced by the generation of artists born in the 1960s. Specifically speaking, there are two cultural elements that have played a decisive role in his artistic career. One is the collectivist ideal accumulated in Chinese society since the 1950s, and the other is the cartoon text he encountered in the process of growing up
