Mei wending, a master of Chinese arts and crafts, a master of Chinese ceramic art and a senior arts and crafts artist, was born in 1940 in Taishan, Guangdong Province. After graduating from the Sculpture Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1962, he went to Shiwan art ceramic factory to engage in ceramic art creation. He is now the president of Foshan ceramic art society.

Personal achievement

In the early 1980s, he took the lead in advocating Shiwan modern ceramic art with his own artistic practice, integrating the charm of China and the pursuit of the sense of the times into the clay, integrating China and foreign countries, throughout the ancient and modern times, eclectic, innovative, and with a new texture language, he created a masterpiece of "steep shape, smooth and just Yang".

Mei wending's achievements in art are various. His calligraphy is bold and unrestrained, pure and powerful, and his traditional Chinese painting is simple and meaningful. His research on ceramic art theory is particularly profound and incisive, and he has written a lot of works. He has been devoted to the promotion of Shiwan ceramic art for a long time. In 1993, he edited the Hongkong edition of the pottery essence of Tao Yuan.

In 1996, he participated in the compilation of Shiwan ceramic art history, which won the second prize of higher education achievement of Guangdong Province in 1998.

In 1998, he was invited to Taichung to participate in "the first ceramic art on both sides of the Taiwan Strait"; he participated in editing "Local Art Textbook" of Foshan full-time primary and secondary schools.

In 2001, he was invited to attend the first international ceramic forum in Zibo City, Shandong Province, and made a speech on "Shiwan traditional ceramic art and recent development".
