Wang Zuoji was born in Beijing on March 27, 1939. His grandfather, Wang Shaotang, was a doctor in Taiyuan hospital during the reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, and his grandmother, he Xiaofan, was the director of discipline in Beijing Women's normal university.

Since childhood, he studied the five classics and four books with his uncle and grandfather he mengxiang (once Minister of finance of Duan Qirui government), and received his enlightenment education. From the age of 7, I started a small business with my father, making and selling Beijing snacks, playing drums and collecting old things. He has been a peddler, a strong worker, a fireman, a teacher, a pig keeper, and a leader in administrative infrastructure. He retired in 1999.

Life

After liberation, he studied in Fuxue Hutong primary school, Beijing No.5 Middle School, No.21 middle school, Lanzhou Petroleum School, Renmin University and No.2 light Party school. In June 1956, he studied Beijing folk culture with the teacher Jin Shoushen. In the past decades, we have visited the streets and Hutongs of Beijing, and conducted folk fieldwork in villages and towns in the suburbs of Beijing. In all walks of life, we have been searching for the root of folk culture. He worked with Mr. Sui Shaofu to write "Jingdu xiangconversational spring and Autumn Annals", and participated in the compilation of the new year congratulation book "year of China" and the rescue project of China's first district and County folk annals.

In recent years, he has participated in various cultural academic seminars and expert argumentation meetings. Many papers and articles have been published. He has also worked with many TV stations to make and broadcast dozens of feature films and interviews.

In Beijing People's radio, 42 live broadcasts were made to publicize the folk culture of old Beijing. In addition, he has given many folk lectures in libraries, museums, districts and counties.

At present, he is deputy director of folklore Committee of Beijing Folk Artists Association, consultant of Chaoyang District Association for democracy and people's livelihood, consultant of Mentougou District People's livelihood insurance, consultant of Baiji "China time honored brand" of China Federation of Commerce, etc.
