In August 1945, he joined the Eighth Route Army and stayed in the army for another ten years. He successively served as the leader of the fourth unit of the propaganda team of the Political Department of the 14th military division of Jidong military region, the propaganda officer of the Political Department of the 201 division of the 67th army of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, the military newspaper of the 67th army of the Chinese people's Volunteer Army and the battlefield reporter. He was admitted to Renmin University of China in July 1954 and stayed in the university to teach after graduation in 1958. From 1961 to 1963, he was the deputy director of the civil law teaching and research section of the law department of Renmin University of China, and from 1963 to 1985, he was the director of the famous commercial law teaching and research section. Some of the social part-time jobs he once held include: Deputy Director General of China Society of marriage and family research law, first director of the 10th law firm, deputy director of the 8th law firm, deputy director of the legal advisory office of Beijing Women's Federation, member of the marriage and family Expert Committee of the Ministry of civil affairs, etc.
