He was born in Wuyuan Town, Haiyan City, Zhejiang Province. He was a scholar in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, the son of Peng guanmin, Minister of Taichang temple in Longwu Dynasty of Southern Ming Dynasty.

He is knowledgeable and eloquent, and he is the first of five scholars. In 1642, he was recommended by Chen Zilong, the same examiner of Shaoxing Prefecture. He was the chief editor of Hanlin academy, Wu Guohua, and fan Shutai, the chief editor of Li Ke. I didn't expect that because of illness, I couldn't finish the game. Chen Zilong said in Haiyan County Magistrate Liu Yaozhen, "I wish Peng Sheng could not come out of my family. Peng Sun Yi's works on classics and history, clan, Fangji, shilao, and Echeng were not complete. He compiled and corrected them, and each of them had its own way of writing. In poetry, there is no body unprepared, and every scholar is forced to be a great master of Ming Dynasty. He once created a "zhanshe" with Wu Fanchang, which was valued by celebrities and was known as "Wuyuan Erzhong" at that time. His works are abundant, including more than 10 kinds, such as the collection of Mingzhai poems, Mingzhai poems, Mingzhai miscellany, Peng's old news record, guest house anecdote, Fangshi waiji, Guoen Jiacheng record, supplement of Ming Dynasty chronicles, Yishi of qiantai, list of dead ministers after Jiashen, Jinghai records, Pingkou records, etc. In 1673, he and Tong Shenzhi compiled 10 volumes of Haiyan County annals, unpublished. The transcript is now kept in Nanjing Library.

Peng Sunyi, the son of Peng guanmin, is well-known for his "outstanding young, easy to record in books" and his "erudite talent, champion in five tests".
