Guo Yi

Guo Yi (1280-1335) was born in Kaisha (Gaoqiao Township, Dantu County, Jiangsu Province). He is tall and has a long beard. He is called Guo Xu. His father, Jingxing, has literary talent. At the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, the imperial court sent people to Jiangnan to select talents. The sheriff recommended him, but he refused to do so. Later, he was recommended as the head of Huaihai academy by Yan gongnan. Guo inherited his family learning and was proficient in Mongolian. At the age of 20, it was the record of Zhenjiang Confucianism, and later it was Xuezheng. He has successively served as the mountain chief of pojiang Academy in Raozhou, Jiangxi Province, and the patrol inspector in Layuan, Qingtian County, Chuzhou, Zhejiang Province. After the transfer of Pingjiang Road (now Suzhou) as a professor of Confucianism, did not go to the post, and became a provincial rafter history. Zhao Mengfu, a fine calligrapher and painter, wrote the collection of xuesongzhai on behalf of Zhao. Zhao wrote a preface to it and wrote a complete account of Guo. He learned from Gao Yanjing and got his writing skills. He had a close contact with Wuxi painter Ni Yuanzhen and had the longest contact. Because he lived in Jingkou, he imitated Mi Fu in painting. Every painting and calligraphy had its own new ideas and became a famous painter of Dantu in Yuan Dynasty. He likes to drink, and after drunk, he writes with a pen and ink, which is regarded as a treasure.

Guo Yi (1280-1335), a calligrapher of the Yuan Dynasty, was named Tianxi, Yunshan and Tuisi. His ancestral home was Mingshui, and he lived in Jingkou (now Zhenjiang, Jiangsu). Ye Chengjia school, good at debate, proficient in Mongolian, burly, with a long beard, known as Guo ran. When he was 20 years old, he was a scholar in Zhenjiang. He has successively served as the mountain chief of Poyang Academy on Raozhou Road, and the inspector of Layuan in Qingtian County of Chuzhou. Guo Yigong, a calligrapher of Zhao Mengfu, was good at Xiaokai, and once wrote songxuezhaiji for Mengfu. Meng Fu made a postscript to praise. He imitated Mi Fu and studied with Gao Yanjing. He got his technique and became friends with Wuxi painter Ni Zan. Painting after drinking is a treasure to people. The landscape has the Mie family style, especially good at bamboo, wood and stone.

Handed down works

There are volumes of "the picture of withered bamboo trees" collected in the National Museum of Kyoto, Japan. He is the author of Tuisi Ji, which was compiled by his son Guo Qili after his death, and has a preface by Yu Xilu. In addition, Yunshan diary records his one-year visit to Zhenjiang and Hangzhou, and there are many local documents. The excerpt of Qing Dynasty was published in Ke hang diaries. Zi Shu Shi Juan was written by Lu you when he left for Li. It was once popular in Zhenjiang. When Guo Yi saw this rare painting in Zhenjiang, he admired Lu You's poem name and wrote postscripts for it. Yunshan diary is his diary from August to October of the first year of the Yuan Dynasty (1308) when he was in Zhenjiang and Hangzhou. It records the people, places of interest, monasteries, streets, markets and gardens in Zhenjiang at that time. It is a precious local historical material. Kuaixuezhai Ji, also known as Tuisi Ji, is a collection of his young son Guo Qi and a preface by Yu Xilu.

Representative works

Guo Yi's poem on painting, running script, paper version. 2 cm in length and 40. 6 cm in width. It was written after Qian Xuan's painting of red plum and Zhao Mengfu's poem. Qian xuanzi shunju is a famous painter in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty. He is good at characters, flowers and birds, landscape. This running script is graceful, vigorous and straight. It is learned from Zhao Mengfu, but it is not as mellow as Zhao's words.
