Guan Songfang
Guan Songfang (1901-1982) was a member of Manchu nationality. His original name was kuyar endi. His name was Yayun and Zhiyun. His name was Xingxing and Songfang. His pen names were Xiqi, Xi'an and the owner of Xi'an. Good at landscape painting, member of Chinese Artists Association, vice president of Chinese Landscape Painting Research Association. Do not sign Xi'an and xi'zhai. He studied painting at the age of fifteen. In 1925, he and Pu Xinshe organized SONGFENG painting society. After 1949, he was the editor of Beijing Palace Museum and the painter of Beijing Chinese Painting Academy. In 1956, he joined the China Art Association.

Guan Songfang is the son of kuyar Kuilin, a late Qing Dynasty official, calligrapher and antiquities appraiser. In the modern Beijing Tianjin school of painting, Guan Songfang is famous for his profound skills, exquisite brushwork and self-discipline. Guan Ruizhi, the new generation leader of the famous palace painting society, including PU songchuang, Pu Zuo and Song Feng, are all the apprentices of Guan Songfang.

Guan Songfang began to study painting in 1916. In 1921, he painted the painting of Sanmu for Puyi, the emperor of the late Qing Dynasty. In 1925, his work "green landscape" won the silver award of Belgium International Exposition. In 1925, he organized SONGFENG painting society with PU xuezhai and Pu Xinshe. In 1948, he held his last personal painting exhibition in Zhongshan Park, Peking. In 1949, he was the editor and chief of the first section of the Palace Museum in Beijing. He joined the Chinese Painting Research Association in 1952. In 1953, he was the director of the Chinese Calligraphy Research Association. He became a painter of Beijing Academy of painting after 1958.
