Wang Fengwu

Wang Fengwu (1901-1985.1.30), the founding major general of the people's Republic of China. Born in Nanxi Township, dingjiabu District, Shangcheng County, Henan Province in 1901 (now Jinzhai County, Anhui Province). He joined the Communist Party of China in 1929. He joined the Red Army of workers and peasants in 1936. He participated in the agrarian revolution, the war of resistance against Japan and the war of liberation.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he served as political commissar of the air defense school, deputy director of the Civil Aviation Administration of the Military Commission, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the Civil Aviation Administration of the Military Commission, and deputy political commissar of the anti aircraft gun command of the air force of the people's Liberation Army. He was awarded the rank of major general in 1955. He died in Beijing on January 30, 1985.

In 1929, he joined the Communist Party of China. In 1932, he was in charge of the north line of the Transportation Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (in Shanghai), carrying out the white area work of the party. He joined the Red Army of workers and peasants in December 1936.

At the beginning of the Anti Japanese War

At the beginning of the Anti Japanese War, Wang Fengwu served as the technical Secretary of the Political Department of the 344 brigade of the 115th division of the Eighth Route Army, the chief of the general affairs section of the Political Department of the 344 brigade of the 115th division of the Eighth Route Army, and the chief and director of the Democratic Movement section. After 1939, he served as secretary-general of the second column headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, director of the Political Department of the first brigade of the North China Anti Japanese people's army, political commissar of the brigade, and political commissar of the first and Fifth Army divisions of the Hebei Shandong Henan military region. He led the armed forces of the divisions to smash the Japanese puppets and "wipe out" them many times.

During the war of Liberation

In 1945, he served as political commissar of the 10th brigade of the third division of the New Fourth Army. In the spring of 1946, the 10th brigade took part in the battle of Siping for more than a month. In May, the masses were mobilized to open up a base area in Hulan, north of Harbin. In August, he served as political commissar of the fifth division of the second column of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army (later the Northeast Field Army). In February 1947, the second column crossed the Songhua River to the south. With the cooperation of brother troops, the Fifth Division annihilated one regiment and one security regiment of the new first army in Chengzi street, northeast of Jiutai, effectively containing the enemy attacking Linjiang. In November 1948, he served as political commissar of the second artillery division (heavy artillery division) of the special forces of the Northeast Field Army (later the fourth field army), and participated in the Pingjin campaign.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China

After the founding of new China, Wang Fengwu successively served as political commissar of air defense school, deputy director and Acting Secretary of Party committee of Civil Aviation Administration of China (Civil Aviation Administration of the Military Commission), deputy political commissar of air force anti-aircraft gun command, etc., doing a lot of work for the establishment of China's civil aviation industry. He is a member of the fourth and fifth national committees of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. on January 30, 1985, he died in Beijing.

Honors

In 1955, he was awarded the rank of major general, and was awarded the August 1st medal, the second independent freedom medal and the first Liberation Medal.
