Life of the characters
Early experience
In 1492, LV Huai was born in Yongfeng (now Shangrao Guangfeng). At the age of 18 or 19, LV Huai was fond of learning. He often went to the secluded path to think and study. One day he read the quotations from Yanping, which taught people to observe the weather of happiness, forgiveness, sadness and happiness. LV Huai then secretly tried, over the years, slowly feel the temperament gradually clear, study knowledge gradually effective. After that, he studied under Zhan Ruoshui and was one of the four entry-level disciples of the Zhan family (the other three were Qian, Hongyuan and Tangshu).
Official career
In the first year of Jiajing (1522 A.D.), Lu huaideng was recommended as a native. In the 11th year of Jiajing period (1532 AD), Jinshi was selected as the first scholar in the Imperial Academy. He was given the military department by shujishi to Shizhong. In the early days, he built the Imperial Palace and Xue Congsi. He took charge of the Imperial Academy as Nanjing Siye. On the one hand, LV Huai was an official in the imperial court. On the other hand, he studied Neo Confucianism, wrote books and spread his academic thoughts.
Preach and teach
In 1561 A.D., Tang Boyuan was elected at the age of 22. He became a close friend with Zhou Guanghao in Chaoyang, and later became an in laws. Zhou Guanghao's father, Zhou Fuxian, once worshipped Zhan Ruoshui, a university student, as a teacher with LV Huai in Nanjing. Like Wang Shouren, Zhan Ruoshui advocates the unity of knowledge and action, but he especially advocates "recognizing the principle of heaven everywhere", so as to avoid empty talk about conscience and breaking away from social practice, and avoid "letting my heart be my will" to practice recklessly. When Tang Boyuan met Zhou Guanghao, Zhou Fuxian had already passed away, so he went to Shitang in Yongfeng (now Guangfeng, Jiangxi Province) to study Lu Huai's original meaning of three books in 1568. In 1564 A.D., Tang Boyuan went to the capital to take an examination and failed. He went back to Shitang alone to help LV Huai revise the Li Ji Gu Yi. Tang Boyuan accepted Zhan Ruoshui's academic viewpoint from LV Huai and made it more practical.
Leaving office to return home
Later, because he didn't want to be a prime minister, Lu Huai finally became an official in Nanjing and resigned. In the first year of Wanli (1573 AD), LV Huai passed away and lived over 80 years.
Ideological achievements
Lu Huai's teacher is as clear as water, dedicated to the way of sages. All my life, I have read a lot and learned a lot. All my heart and mind are in charge of all the classics and histories. Lu Huai's theory is a compromise between Zhan Ruoshui and Wang Yangming. He thinks that Wang Yangming's theory of conscience and Zhan's theory of recognizing the principle of heaven have the same purpose, "the heart is the principle, the principle is the heart, the human heart is the principle of heaven, nothing but the middle." (Jin Shi Lun Xue Yu) affirms that temperament exists from the body and cannot be unbiased. "The goodness of temperament can't wait for change. Reason can't be separated from Qi as reason, and heart can't be separated from body as heart." (Ming Confucianism case Ganquan study case 2) wrote "the theory of mind unified map", which proved by the theory of River map that if we want to be reasonable, we have to change temperament. Summing up the previous theories, it is believed that "a thousand words, in addition to changing temperament, there is no other activity." (Fu Huang Ya Zhai) points out that good scholars should seek heaven, not be limited by temperament.
Personal works
Lu Huai wrote two volumes of the biography of the hexagram changes in the book of changes, and another 32 volumes of the manuscript of towel stones, but the original was lost. There is only one volume in the collection category of Sikuquanshu, which is not a volume. It may be recorded by his descendants. Lu Huai is good at temperament, including two volumes of Xiao Yun Kaoyi and three volumes of Lu Gu Yi, which are respectively stored in the book of changes and music of Siku Quanshu.
Historical evaluation
Mr. Huang Zongxi's case of Confucianism in the Ming Dynasty is very practical, which can make the most of the implication of Hengqu. However, there is still a saying: the popularity of husband's temperament can't be better than that of others, so it can't be biased. Although the temperament is biased, the one with the right temperament is not absent. Although the cold and heat in the sky were not enough, the news of the crisis came back to Taihe. This proves that there is no need to change the goodness of temperament. Reason can't be separated from Qi, and heart can't be separated from body. If temperament must be changed, so must heart. Today, it is said that "the heart is originally free from disease, but it is sick from the temperament of the body", then the body and the heart are two things. Mencius said that "the one who drowns his heart is old", but he has never heard of temperament. The loss of gaiheng canal is due to his temperament, while the loss of a teacher is due to his temperament, which is always caused by his inability to see and hear clearly.
