Urge the Czech House of Representatives to uphold a political commitment to China

The spokesperson stated that China has taken note of relevant information and strongly condemns and firmly opposes the malicious distortion of United Nations Resolution 2758 by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Czech House of Representatives, the blatant provocation of the One China principle, and the gross interference in China's internal affairs.

The spokesperson pointed out that before the issuance of UN Resolution 2758, Taiwan's belonging to China was already a historical fact and an international consensus. This is an important political prerequisite for the adoption of Resolution 2758 by the United Nations General Assembly. The resolution not only thoroughly resolved the issue of China's representation in the United Nations, including Taiwan, politically, legally, and procedurally, but also clarified that China has only one seat in the United Nations and there is no such thing as "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan".

The One China principle is widely recognized as the fundamental norm of international relations and the political foundation for China to establish and develop diplomatic relations with countries around the world, such as the Czech Republic.

China urges the Czech House of Representatives to abide by the One China political commitment, implement the One China principle, immediately eliminate any negative impacts, and effectively maintain the healthy and stable development of China Czech relations.
