At around 13:22 on December 4th, renowned Taiwanese writer Qiong Yao passed away at her home in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, at the age of 86.
Qiong Yao's son stated that his mother left a suicide note. At noon, the secretary discovered that Qiong Yao had committed suicide in her room and immediately notified emergency treatment. When the rescue personnel arrived, they found that Qiong Yao had no breathing or heartbeat and was obviously dead, so she was not taken to the hospital.
After receiving the report, the Tamsui police arrived at the scene and preliminarily ruled out external intervention in the cause of death.
Qiong Yao, whose real name is Chen Zhe, is a well-known writer in Taiwan. Many of Qiong Yao's novels have been adapted into popular movies or TV dramas, including "Huan Zhu Ge Ge" and "A Curtain of Dreams", which are well-known in the Chinese speaking world.
