Deepen the Party's self revolution

As the world's largest Marxist ruling party, how can our party successfully break free from the historical cycle of chaos, rise and fall, and ensure that the party will never deteriorate, change color, or lose its flavor? This is a strategic issue facing all comrades in the Party. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in the great practice of promoting comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, we have continuously conducted practical exploration and theoretical thinking. Based on Comrade Mao Zedong's first answer of "letting the people supervise the government", we have given the second answer, which is to continuously promote the Party's self revolution.

In the 10-year practice and theoretical exploration of comprehensively governing the Party strictly in the new era, we have continuously deepened our understanding of the Party's self revolution, accumulated rich practical experience, and formed a series of important theoretical achievements, systematically answering major questions such as why our Party needs self revolution, why it can self revolution, and how to promote self revolution.

The ideals pursued by our party are lofty and sacred, and the mission we shoulder is arduous and heavy. Only by examining ourselves with the requirements of the times, awakening ourselves with a strong sense of crisis, forging ourselves with the spirit of self revolution, constantly improving our leadership ability and governance level, can we ensure that the party will never deteriorate, change color, or lose its flavor, and always become a strong leadership core of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. At the same time, it should be noted that with the changes in the situation, tasks, external environment, and the internal changes of the party members, various contradictions and problems are inevitable within the party. It is necessary to have the courage to turn the blade inward, timely eliminate various negative influences, and ensure that the party is always full of vitality and vigor. This is why we need to promote the Party's self revolution.

On January 8, 2024, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China.

The courage to self revolution is the most distinctive character and greatest advantage of our party. The nature, purpose, and original mission of the Party determine that our Party always represents the fundamental interests of the broadest masses of the people. Without seeking personal gain, one can have a thorough spirit of self revolution, seek fundamental and great benefits, adhere to truth, correct mistakes, dare to examine oneself, and constantly reflect on one's own mistakes; Not being shy of seeking medical treatment and not embellishing oneself, timely discovering and solving one's own problems, can effectively counter the "hunting" corruption of all interest groups, power groups, and privileged classes. This is the secret that our Party has always maintained progressiveness and purity, and it is also the confidence that our Party can promote self revolution.

To deepen the self revolution of the Party, it is necessary to grasp the following issues in practice.

Firstly, the fundamental guarantee is to adhere to the centralized and unified leadership of the Party Central Committee. Advancing the self revolution of the Party is a conscious action of our Party's physical fitness, aimed at building the Party stronger and more powerful, and better adhering to and strengthening the Party's leadership. To promote the self revolution of the Party, it is necessary to unify planning, deployment, and advancement under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, and always move forward in the right direction.

Secondly, the fundamental goal is to lead the great social revolution. We should plan the Party's self revolution in response to the new requirements of the great social revolution practice, use the new achievements of the development of the great social revolution to test the actual effectiveness of the Party's self revolution, and strive to achieve the goal of leading the great social revolution with the Party's self revolution and promoting the Party's self revolution with the great social revolution. At present, it is necessary to plan and promote the Party's self revolution closely around the Party's central task, so that the Party's self revolution can better serve the Party's central task.

On October 15-16, 2024, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited Fujian for inspection. On the afternoon of the 15th, Xi Jinping inspected the Gu Wenchang Memorial Hall in Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City.

Thirdly, we must fundamentally follow the ideology of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. To promote the self revolution of the Party, we must persistently arm the entire Party with the Party's innovative theories, educate and guide Party members and cadres to work hard in deepening transformation, draw on the ideological nourishment contained in it, strengthen Party spirit training, enhance spiritual realm and moral level, and continuously improve the firmness of the Party's self revolution.

Fourthly, the strategic goal is to break free from historical cycles. Advancing the Party's self revolution is an important tool for breaking out of the historical cycle of chaos and decline. We must focus on this strategic goal, with a high degree of political vigilance, timely eliminate the virus that erodes the healthy body of the Party, timely eliminate various hidden dangers that damage the Party's governing foundation, always maintain the Party's physical health, and continuously consolidate the Party's long-term governing position.

Fifth, the main focus should be on solving the unique problems of the major party. The unique challenges faced by the major party we refer to are mainly reflected in the "six ways to always", and solving these challenges is not a one-time effort. To promote the self revolution of the Party, we must adhere to a problem oriented approach, maintain strategic determination, address both symptoms and root causes, implement comprehensive policies, coordinate efforts, persevere, and work hard for a long time. We must accumulate small victories to achieve great victories, and demonstrate the advantages of the Party in continuously solving its unique problems.

Sixth, taking the establishment of a comprehensive and strict governance system for the Party as an effective approach. We must closely adhere to the overall requirements of Party building in the new era, adhere to full coverage of content, full coverage of objects, full chain of responsibilities, and full integration of systems, adhere to the governance of the Party by system and rules, continuously improve the Party's self revolutionary institutional norms system, and further form a virtuous cycle of relying on the Party's own strength to discover problems, correct deviations, promote innovation, and achieve overall improvement of governance capacity.

Seventh, the important focus is on forging a strong organization and building a strong team. We must thoroughly implement the organizational line of the Party in the new era, improve the organizational system that connects the upper and lower levels and executes effectively, enhance the political and organizational functions of Party organizations, focus on solving problems such as weakened Party leadership, lack of Party building, and ineffective Party management, and promote comprehensive progress and excellence of Party organizations at all levels. Adhere to the implementation of the standards for good cadres in the new era, strictly control the political, ability, and integrity aspects, and ensure that the vast number of party members and cadres are loyal, clean, and responsible.

Eighth, taking upright conduct, strict discipline, and anti-corruption as important measures. We must combine the promotion of positive conduct, discipline, and anti-corruption, always adhere to a strict tone, strict measures, and strict atmosphere, lead with excellent work style, strengthen protection with strict discipline, and eliminate obstacles with anti-corruption and punishment. We must promote the Party's self revolution in an interconnected and progressive manner, constantly achieving self breakthroughs through reform and innovation.

Ninth, the combination of self-monitoring and people's supervision is a powerful driving force. Self supervision and people's supervision are organically unified and complementary. To promote the Party's self revolution, it is necessary to strengthen the Party's self supervision, improve various institutional mechanisms for intra Party supervision, and continuously improve the intra Party supervision system. We must consciously accept the supervision of the people, effectively connect the supervision within the party with the supervision of state organs, democracy, judiciary, the masses, and public opinion, and achieve a positive interaction and mutual benefit between self-discipline and heteronomy.

The development of practice is endless, and the innovation of theory is also endless. We must adhere to the principles of emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts, keeping pace with the times, and upholding integrity and innovation. We must continuously explore and innovate in practice and theory, deepen our understanding of the regularity of the Party's self revolution, and make the Party's self revolution ideas and measures more rigorous. We must focus on specific and in-depth self revolution in every front and every link.
