Zheng Zhong
Zheng Zhong (1850-1922), also known as Ru Zhong, is known as Kun Xian and Lu Zhong. Nanping people (now Nanping Town, Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City). Born in a peasant family, he traveled to Honolulu to make a living because of his poverty when he was young. After more than ten years of hard work and considerable savings, he and sun Mei (Sun Yat Sen's brother) jointly set up a livestock ranch in the local area. The scale is very large. There are more than 10000 cattle and sheep, etc. they are also engaged in business. The income is not poor, and they are very famous in Tandao.
Life of the characters
In 1878, Sun Yat Sen went to study with his mother at Sun Mei in Honolulu and met Zheng Zhong. In 1894, Sun Yat Sen established the first bourgeois democratic revolutionary group in Honolulu, Xingzhong society. Zheng Zhong and sun Mei took the lead in this group and were one of the earliest members of Xingzhong society. After that, Sun Yat Sen went to Tandao several times for publicity and fund-raising activities, which were strongly supported by Zheng Zhong and sun Mei. Because of the same revolutionary interests, Zheng Zhong became brothers with sun Mei and Sun Yat Sen.
Main achievements
Since then, Zheng Zhong has been more devoted to revolution. In 1895, Zheng Zhong once returned to China to visit relatives, got married and took care of property in Macao. When Sun Yat Sen failed to launch the Guangzhou Uprising and fled to Macao from Tangjiawan, Xiangshan County, Zheng Zhong arranged him to live in the home of shunxia, the former maid of Zheng in Macao. In 1905, Sun Yat Sen and Huang Xing formed an alliance to unify the revolutionary forces. Zheng Zhong and sun Mei became members of the alliance in Tandao. After that, Zheng Zhong and sun Mei sold their pastures to support Sun Yat Sen's revolution. Their property in Tandao was depressed, and they grew homesick as they grew older. Sun Mei first lived in Macao, then moved to Kowloon. Zheng Zhong returned home and settled in Nanping. After returning to China, Zheng Zhong was still very concerned about state affairs. He was in charge of rural administration. He was generous and forthright, and was good at solving disputes. He was well received by the villagers. In 1912, when Sun Yat Sen visited Qianshan, Zheng Zhong launched Nanping villagers to welcome him. When Sun Yat Sen went to Nanping for iron ore exploration, Zheng Zhong was the guide to explore the mines in Jiangjunshan. When Zheng Zhong's eldest son got married, Sun Yat Sen gave him a gift of joy. in the spring of 1922, Zheng Zhong died of illness in his hometown.
