Wang Tao
Wang Tao (June 1, 1936 - August 10, 2011), female, born in Qingdao, Shandong Province, is an expert in forest cultivation engineering, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, chief scientist, researcher and doctoral supervisor of Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences.
After graduating from Beijing Forestry University in 1959, Wang Tao was assigned to work in the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences. He successively served as assistant researcher, associate researcher and researcher of the Institute of forestry. In 1978, he entered the fourth English class of the Chinese Academy of forestry for one year. In 1988, as a visiting scholar, he went to Texas A & M University to study for half a year. Since 1993, he has been elected the eighth, ninth and tenth Chinese Academy of forestry successively Deputy to the National People's Congress of the people's Republic of China; elected as one of the first academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1994, he served as honorary director of the Institute of forest ecological environment of the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences in the same year (until 1999); won the China Forestry Science and Technology Award in 2004; won the lifelong achievement award of the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences in 2009; Wang Tao died in Beijing on August 10, 2011 at the age of 75.

Wang Tao was born in Jiaozhou City, Qingdao City, Shandong Province on June 1, 1936. He studied in Qingdao No.2 Middle School. In August 1955, Wang Tao studied in the Department of forestry, Beijing Forestry University (renamed Beijing Forestry University in 1985). In July 1959, after graduating from Beijing Forestry University, Wang Tao was assigned to work in China Academy of Forestry Sciences, and successively served as assistant researcher, associate researcher and researcher of the Institute. In August of the same year, he served as the leader of the seedling group of the afforestation Research Office (until January 1962). In January 1962, Wang Tao was the head of seed group of genetics and Breeding Research Office of Institute of forestry, Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences (until December 1964). In March 1978, Wang Tao entered the fourth English class of the Chinese Academy of forestry for one year (until March 1979). In January 1988, as a visiting scholar, Wang Tao went to Texas A & M University to study for half a year (until June 1988). In 1989, Kezhi daily published a short comment on "advocating the spirit of Wang Tao". In 1994, Wang Tao was elected as one of the first academicians of the Chinese Academy of engineering under the Ministry of agriculture (forest cultivation). In February of the same year, he served as honorary director of Institute of forest ecological environment, Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences (until December 1999). At 19:56 on August 10, 2011, Wang Tao died in Beijing at the age of 75.

Achievements in scientific research
Wang Tao has done a lot of work in forest cultivation and research, development and promotion of pollution-free and compound plant growth regulators. On this basis, we undertake the "11th Five Year Plan" key project of the Ministry of science and technology "Research on efficient cultivation technology of agricultural and forestry biomass resources" to provide technical basis for the cultivation of woody resources for biomass fuel oil industry. During the "12th Five Year Plan" period, we undertook the Ministry of finance's "Research on cultivation, development and utilization of new woody biomass energy resources", and carried out the corresponding docking research on production technology and process flow to establish the corresponding industrial chain. Around the large-scale cultivation of woody bioenergy tree species, we carried out the conservation of excellent germplasm resources, breeding of improved varieties, and regional experiments. According to the adaptability range of each tree species, site division and regional experiments of high-yield cultivation, we put forward 10 large-scale high-yield cultivation modes and technical regulations for different sites. as of September 2011, Wang Tao has published 44 monographs. up to September 2011, Wang Tao, as the first adult, has won the national science and technology progress award, the second prize (two) and the third prize of the National Invention Award, the Ministry of forestry science and technology progress award, the first prize and eight other science and technology awards, three national patents, and 12 awards from six countries and international organizations.
