Jimu Township
Jimu township is located in Northwest Sichuan Plateau, southwest of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, and upstream of Dadu River. The terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast. The northwest is the plateau area with an altitude of about 4000 meters, and the southeast is the canyon area. Northwest China is a natural grassland and animal husbandry area with gentle mountains, abundant water and grass. The terraced alluvial terrace on both sides of the valley in the high mountain and gorge area in the southeast is agricultural land, and there is also cultivated land on the gentle slope of the mid mountain, which is an agricultural area. It is rich in forest resources, with a forestland area of 253300 hectares, a forest coverage rate of 47%, and a timber stock of more than 12.91 million cubic meters.
Agriculture
In 1990, Jimu Township had more than 80000 mu of cultivated land and more than 100000 mu of sown area (including multiple cropping area). The main food crops are corn, wheat, Hu Dou, potato and highland barley. Economic crops are rape, hemp and so on. After liberation, great progress was made in agricultural production. The extensive farming system before liberation was reformed, water conservancy facilities were built, and the irrigation area increased from more than 4000 mu before liberation to 35900 mu. New practical agricultural technologies have been promoted, and agricultural machinery has been widely introduced and used. Fine varieties of grain, oil and fruit have been introduced, resulting in a substantial increase in output. In 1990, the total agricultural output value reached 24.96 million yuan, an average annual growth of 4.22%, and the per capita income in rural areas was more than 400 yuan.
Commerce and trade
Jimu township has set up logging, grain processing, fruit processing, electric power, brewing, machinery manufacturing and maintenance, building materials, sewing, shoemaking and other county owned state-owned and community enterprises. With the development of Commerce, national trade companies and other business institutions have been established, and commercial supply and marketing outlets are all over the city and countryside, which facilitates the needs of people's production and life. In 1990, the total retail sales of social commodities reached 27.2 million yuan.
Infrastructure
At the end of 1990, Jimu Township built 5 District and township roads, with a total length of 59.5km, and also built forest roads and rural tractor roads. The mileage of highway is 864km, and the total length of tractor road is 483.34km. There are 240 trucks with a freight volume of 120000 tons and a freight turnover of 33.6 million ton km. There are 7 passenger cars with a passenger capacity of 35000 person times and a passenger turnover of 747 person km. In 1990, the total amount of post and telecommunications services reached 350000 yuan, and the total length of postal routes was 137km. 93 km of postal delivery, 196 km of rural telephone access, 377 km of open line, and the development of communication services in 61 villages of 21 towns.
