Baocheng Town, subordinate to Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County of Hainan Province, is located in the northeast of Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County, adjacent to Lingshui Li Autonomous County in the southeast, Liugong Township and Jiamao town in the south, Xiangshui town in the West and southwest, Wuzhishan City in the northwest and North, Shiling town in the northeast and East, with an administrative area of 177.04 square kilometers.
In 1958, the district township system was abolished and Qifeng commune was formed. In 1959, it was renamed Baocheng commune. In 1983, the district office was established. In 1935, Baoting county was established, and Baoting Gong was under the jurisdiction of Baoting county.
