[animal morphology] pectinate (wanweilu), also known as pectinate (Erya) and jade pectinate (Guo Pu's notes on Erya).

Shell 2, large, up to 30 cm long, slightly triangular or fan-shaped. The top of the shell is sharp and thin, which is located in the front end of the shell, and the back end of the shell is wide. The dorsal margin is straight or slightly curved; the anterior part of the ventral margin is straight and gradually protrudes to the posterior part. The posterior margin is straight or slightly arcuate. The surface of the shell near the ventral margin is smooth, the other parts have radial ribs, and there are triangular spines on the ribs. In young individuals, the shell is thin, transparent and gradually thickened with age. The color of the shell surface also varies with age. The young individuals are mostly white or light yellow; the older ones are light brown or brown; the older ones are dark brown; the top is often worn to show pearl luster. The growth pattern is thin but not obvious at the back of the shell, and thick at the ventral surface. The inner surface of the shell is slightly the same as that of the shell surface. The ligaments are light brown and equal in length to the dorsal margin. The anterior adductor muscle scar is small, long oval, located in the inner surface of the shell top; the posterior adductor muscle scar is large, slightly round, located in the middle of the shell. The coat mark is slightly obvious, and the meat part is smaller than the shell. The feet are small and stick shaped. Foot silk light brown, very soft.

It lives in the bottom of shallow sea sediment. It is distributed in the north and South coasts of China.
