The plant is loose and clump, green or bright green. Reproductive branches erect, 2-3 cm high. The leaves are densely clustered at the top, and the pseudoroots are yellowish brown, densely distributed in the lower part of the plant; the vegetative branches are creeping or curved in arch. The leaves on the reproductive branch are long and narrow, oval, 7 mm long and 4 mm wide, acuminate; the leaves on the vegetative branch are short and 5 mm long and 4 mm wide; the margins of the leaves are differentiated, the upper part is serrated, the lower part is entire, the middle rib is single, reaching the top. Monoecious; capsule stipe erect, 2-3 cm long, red; capsule pendulous, ovoid.

It grows in mountainous areas, fields and streams near towns, on wet soil slopes or at the base of tree trunks. It is widely distributed in all provinces and regions of the country.
