[plant morphology] Bupleurum chinense
Annual herbs or subshrubs, 0.5-1.5 meters high, the whole plant has fragrance. The root is thick. Stem tetragonal, base essentialized, twigs pubescent. Leaves opposite, elliptic, 4-8 cm long, 1.5-3.2 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, upper part of leaf margin serrate, lower part entire, both sides sparsely pilose, lower veins villous; petiole very short. Inflorescence terminal; flowers white or yellowish green; corolla lip shaped. Nutlets ovate, brown, smooth. It blooms in autumn.
Born on hillsides, or sunny streams, roadsides, villages. Distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Hubei and other places.
