It is the distant ancestor of domestic chicken. It is similar to domestic chicken but smaller, with a body length of about 60 cm. The crowns, sags and naked faces and throats were all red. The iris is reddish brown or orange yellow. The male's head and neck feathers are crimson in the front and golden in the back; the small coverts on the upper back and wings are black, and the large coverts have blue purple luster; the middle back and middle coverts are dark red; the lower back and waist turn red orange; the flying feathers are black brown. The tail feathers are long and slanting. The tail feathers and coverts are black with metallic green reflection, and the base is white, especially when flying. The lower body is pure black. It lives in the dense forests of tropical and subtropical mountain areas. Distributed in Yunnan, southern Guangxi, Hainan Island and other places.
