Gouer tea

[plant morphology] niubiquan
Shrubs rattan, ca. 2 m tall, glabrous. Branchlets yellowish green. Leaves alternate, ovate, 3.7-7 cm long, 1.8-3 cm wide, apex obtuse and small sharp, base rounded or microcardiform, above bare, below often very small papillae, lateral veins 9-12 pairs; petiole 1-2 cm long. Panicle terminal, 6-20 cm long; flowers white, with sun, 3-5 gathered, with solitary; calyx about 2 mm long, lobes triangular lanceolate. Fruit oblong, ca. 8 mm long, ca. 3 mm wide. It blooms in winter.
On sunny hillside shrubs or roadsides. Distributed in Shaanxi, Hubei, Yunnan, Guangdong, Henan and other places.

[flavor] slightly astringent and flat.
Functions and indications: dispelling wind and dampness, activating blood circulation and dredging collaterals, relieving cough and resolving phlegm, strengthening spleen and replenishing qi. Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain, dysmenorrhea, tuberculosis, scrofula, infantile malnutrition, hepatitis, biliary Ascaris, snakebite, traumatic injury.

② Treatment of tuberculosis, cough, internal injury, hemoptysis, hepatitis: gouer tea one to two, decoction.
③ Treatment of biliary Ascaris: gouer tea two liang, Decoction with sugar.
④ Treatment of traumatic injury, snake bite: gouer tea appropriate amount, wine soaked external rub.
